<image:title>In-Home & In-School Therapy - Occupational Therapy</image:title>
<image:caption>Occupational therapy helps your child become more independent with their daily occupations. In childhood, those occupations are play, learning, self-care, and social functions. Our occupational therapist will assess challenges, identify barriers, and provide techniques to improve skills. Services are provided in the safety, comfort, and convenience of your own home or your child’s school or daycare.</image:caption>

<image:title>In-Home & In-School Therapy - What to Expect</image:title>
<image:caption>Our relationship starts with a free 15-minute phone consultation. We’ll then complete an hour-long evaluation in your home to assess skills using standardized assessments and clinical observations. Following that, the therapist will share results and treatment strategies in a 50-minute parent conference. Finally, as appropriate, we will schedule 50-minute therapy sessions to address any identified areas for improvement.</image:caption>

<image:title>In-Home & In-School Therapy - What Treatment Looks Like</image:title>
<image:caption>For your child, occupational therapy should seem like play. The therapist disguises years of experience, research, and training into simple, fun activities throughout a 50-minute session. Activities are goal-oriented and fun! She may have your child play with a favorite toy in a specific position to improve muscle control. Other times, she may bring a sanitized toy with her to draw out new skills and peak his or her interest. Your participation in sessions is encouraged to empower you to incorporate new skills into the weekly routine. After the session, the therapist will carefully document and chart your child’s progress.</image:caption>

<image:title>Feeding Services - Feeding Therapy</image:title>
<image:caption>If your child’s diet is limited to fewer than 30 foods and lacks variety, your child likely qualifies for medically-necessary feeding therapy. Our occupational therapist can help expand his or her diet and limit stress at family mealtimes. The therapist will assess limiting factors including underlying medical deficits, oral motor deficits, and unique sensory needs. Treatment includes 50 minutes of goal-oriented work to alleviate barriers and gently guide the family toward a better relationship with eating. Your participation in sessions is encouraged to empower you to incorporate new skills into the weekly routine. After the session, the therapist will carefully document and chart your child’s progress. Children aged 2-18 are typically the best candidates for this type of treatment.</image:caption>

We teach you and your child stress-free ways to introduce the new foods into your routine to enhance their diet. We work on preparing your child’s body for eating, improving table set up, and decreasing stress at family meals. Anyone from toddlers to teenagers can benefit from this service.</image:caption>

<image:caption>During a 50-minute treatment session, the therapist will ready your child for eating, address muscle issues or other barriers, and finally explore new foods in a systematic way. The therapist will work with you before the session to plan the exploration menu. The therapist safely engages in food explorations at the same time your child does to make the experience less stressful and more natural. We may play or build with foods and get to know the food more by using our 5 senses! Your participation in sessions is encouraged to empower you to incorporate new skills into the weekly routine. After the session, the therapist will carefully document and chart your child’s progress.</image:caption>
