Practicing since 2017, Kerry MacDonald is passionate about working with families as a unit and incorporating the distinct strengths of the individual members to unlock the potential of each child to live a more fulfilling and connected life.
Kerry earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation with a minor in Psychology from Central Michigan University where graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors. Kerry continued her academic journey at Grand Valley State University, again graduating Summa Cum Laude, with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and Science. In 2017, Kerry received the Graduate Dean's Citation Award, an honor reserved for one individual within each academic cohort to recognize his or her work in creating profound impacts on the communities they serve.
Kerry is currently in the process of completing the Brain Health Life Coaching Certification offered by Amen Clinics. With this certification, she is excited to teach strategies to maximize brain health for enhanced focus, creativity, resilience, happiness, and overall health of the individuals and the communities she serves. Her dedication to children's well-being goes beyond the therapy realm, enriching the lives of the families she serves through innovative and holistic practices.
Beyond her occupational therapy expertise, Kerry is a certified yoga teacher, completing a 250-hour Yoga Teaching Training at Khali Yoga Studio in September 2022. Her commitment to holistic well-being extended to her role as a full-time member of Khali's team from June to December 2023. During this period, Kerry not only taught leading-edge classes but also took the initiative to spearhead the Khali Kid's Yoga program with weekly classes and summer camps. These classes and camps focused on planting the seeds of mindfulness and compassionate connection within children to foster a deeper understanding of oneself and others.
